Background

Railsr, a Banking as a Platform (BaaP) business based in London, was expanding into the US market with a new Credit Card as a Service (CCAS) product. The product offered customers a faster way to market through pre-approved designs, regulatory compliance, banking partnerships, and embedded finance.

The “design kit” was a collection of pre-approved SDK’s offered to CCAS customers as a quick and seamless solution to developing their own digital card wallet in their mobile application. It offered plug-and-play components for everything from checking a user’s card balance to setting up monthly auto payments.

Understanding User Needs

Conduct Competitive Research

Whiteboard potential frames and features

Customer Feedback

Create a wireframe of flow to visualize necessary steps and features

Pitch to customers and implement feedback

Design and implement Railsr’s design kit branding.

Conduct Competitive Research

Understand industry leaders, trends, and disruptors to make note of similarities and differences between products and steps in the user flow.

User Journey

Use our findings to list potential features in a step-by-step sequence. Develop the sequence based on an artificial user persona, as if the user wanted to complete an action in Card Management.

Customer Feedback

Share findings with our customers and ask for feedback. Implement any changes or unforeseen additions to the sequences.

Wireframe

Translate each step of the sequence into a UI wireframe, designing the layout of the screen with minimal detail. The wireframe flows are then sent for approval from our legal and accessibility teams.
